Artist Statement

I am a ceramic artist based in High Wycombe. I studied Applied Arts at the University of Wolverhampton.

I uses hand-building methods to create my sculptural pieces which focus heavily on form.

I am strongly influences by creatures both fictional and non-fictional. The Natural History Museum at Tring is a place I frequent in order to draw and understand the forms I create and distort.

Other inspiration comes from a childhood surrounded by Sci-Fi, Pokemon and the origins of mythical creatures and folklore.

Also I have a great curiosity as to how and why people have a distinct need to collect things like creatures and ceramics. Everyone has a collection in some form or another. I myself have a hat collection.
